Possible that GGG was screwed over by NSAC?

What I mean by that is: They couldn't find/nor negotiate a fight with ANY OTHER fighter until the fight was either officially called off by either side or cancelled by NSAC.

Chances are, if Canelo never pulled out, they'd be even worse off considering that official suspension won't come until next Wednesday.

This entire fiasco is ugly, bad for boxing fans, and is being handled pretty poorly by Loeffler (atleast from a PR standpoint).

Had NSAC followed their own bylaws and protocols concerning PED use and first time offenders and just suspended Canelo right on the spot, they would have been able to move on from the start of camp and find a suitable opponent (which I'm sure the IBF would have ordered the Sergiy mandatory fight).

if i remember correctly , team ggg was already talking about a plan b weeks before canelo canceled... i mean vanes made the 30 day weigh in no problems, not bad for someone who hasnt fought in almost 2 years..

you can't get screwed over if you and your team chose to fight a 154 lbr in vanes instead of ibf #1 ranked derevyanchenko

Since March 5 everyone knew a cancellation was possible. They could've been working out a plan b in the shadows but they did nothing until Canelo dropped out. When GGG had his outburst/tantrum of accusations they should've really known this fight was dead. Still didn't make moves. Loeffler is a D level promoter.

Let's be clear here. No one today nor in the past has ever "ducked" Sergiy at the middleweight weight class. Had IBF ordered this fight, we'd have a different conversation then.

We all know that fighters, unless they have a unification bout, almost always won't fight a mandatory unless it's ordered by that sanctioning organization. They'll continue fighting voluntaries until a big unification fight presents itself or they are forced by either WBA, WBO, IBF, or WBC to fight a mandatory.

Let's not pretend that this doesn't apply to everyone.

If people want GGG to fight Sergiy so bad, write the IBF and tell them to enforce this fight. Which they wouldn't with only 24 days left.

Canelo messed the fight up but GGG's team is straight up trash..why are they relying on Goldenboy to get them a replacement?

listen the failed test was not their fault but it's been amateur hour from the GGG camp every step of the way. And they deserve blame for the shyt show. They were notified a long time about about the failed test and it's been weeks since Canelo was temporary suspended. So what the phuk has Loeffler been doing all this time? And why is GGG so damn stubborn about fighting on this date that don't mean jack shyt to a kazastan fighter. He's not Mexican and him fighting May 5 instead say June 15 is not going to transform GGG into some sort of huge cash draw. They told fans weeks ago don't cancel your flights and hotels to vegas they are now getting killed by those fans who were dumb enough to listen to them as it appears if they do fight it will be at stubhub in cali instead of vegas. Screwing over fans who might of been able to cancel those bookings when the Canelo fight was officially canceled.

They had better opponents that were willing to jump in for May 5 or they could of simply moved the fight date and had more time to promote and sign a better fight. They did neither and deserve to be criticized. This isn't about Nevada it's about GGG wanting to fight on 1 random date but not wanting to fight anyone with a pulse because they still begging for the Canelo rematch and don't want anything to ruin it.

I agree, it has been a clown show. However, MGM told them they needed more time to promote a fight if they wanted to use their venue.

And I'm not really saying there isn't anything they can do. I do however believe that if NSAC suspended Canelo on March 2nd when they announced it, that they'd be in a better position than they are now.

Loeffler needed to be ahead of this curve though.

Yes, they want the fight. I understand that. Now if you want that fight enforced, tell that to the IBF, not to Gennady.

When you have multiple belts, sanctioning bodies take turns as to which mandatory will be enforced.

If a sanctioning body does NOT enforce it, then a boxer can face a voluntary opponent.
