    Be like Trout!

Austin Trout is a perfect example of how this new generation of boxers should carry themselves. They are all afraid of losing because it hurts their business plan. Austin Trout has fought the best, has lost some and won some and yet he still continues to get title shots because he puts on a good show and has heart. Pay attention youngsters!!

And honestly, he was competitive in every fight he was in at the world level except for the Lara fight. Trout is awesome

Trout is very good. He worked Hurd over good in the early rounds, He just barely lost to Jermall. I give him a solid chance to beat Jermell. He will fight anybody for fair pay.

It’s easy to say that when you keep losing fights.

Absolutely not. Canelo did knock him down, but I scored it 6-6 with the KD being the difference. Plenty thought Trout won that fight

Exactly. The only person that had an easy fight against him was Lara. Has the best resume at 54. Not saying he won all of his best fights. Just saying that he faced ALL of the top fighters at 154

Cotto fight - Trout won pretty clearly
Canelo - way more competitive than the scorecards said. Canelo was the bigger guy with more power
Lara - he lost that one easily
Jermall - Verrrry competitive fight. Jermall got out to an early lead and held on to it. He was the bigger guy
Hurd - Took the fight after a 17mth hiatus - was winning the fight the first 6rds - Hurd's size and pressure ultimately broke him, though I think inactivity played just as big of a role
Jermell - we will see how this plays out.

By the way, who else has fought 3 fights consecutively against the likes of a Cotto, Canelo, and Lara? 3 future hall of fame fighters back to back to back. That's incredible to me.

Either way, Al Haymon can count on him to step up, never say no, always be ready, and put on a competitive fight. If anyone thinks Trout is a walk in the park to anyone, you're sadly mistaken.

I agree with you guys completely. I really didn’t understand why so many people in the Charlo/Trout announcement thread yesterday were bashing Trout like he was some no chance nobody fighter.

Trout ALWAYS comes to fight and has given some of the best fighters in the game some extremely tough fights. I know it has been quite a while now, but how many current fighters have a single win as good as Cotto on their resume.

Trout is a great combo of skills and heart while also always seeming pretty chill and down to earth even at his peak. I’ve been a fan and will be rooting for him vs Jermell.
