  • Comments Thread For: Joshua: I'll Do a Great Job of Beating Wilder - Simple as That!

IBO, WBA, WBO, IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (21-0, 20 KOs) is not paying attention to the statements being made by WBC champion Deontay Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs). There are ongoing talks between both sides, with the hope that deal can be reached for a unification showdown sometime in 2018.

Joshua is my favorite heavyweight, but he's not acting like a heavyweight champion right now. He's got 80% of the belts and 60% of the confidence. Now it's "I want him next" negated by "There are smaller matches in between for entertainment sometimes". I know heavies in the past have done that much to the dismay of the people (fans) that pay your overblown salaries, but you have a chance to be different. To do and start things down a different path.

Well I usually stay away from critiquing fighters statements but AJ is a pure foot in mouth type of guy.

"I like to beat them in the ring. I’ve never heard of a record for winning press conferences or stare downs.”

Yeah that record would go to the greatest fighter of all time Mohammed Ali, with the runner up Mike Tyson, and possibly Mayweather. The insinuation that trash talk out the ring doesn't help in the ring is ridiculous. Does it work for everyone nope, but it also can't be dismissed, ask big George Forman about it, it's one of the stories he loves to tell about the "Rumble in the jungle". AJ's pompous, my schit don't stink demeanor is pretty damn annoying. I mean I hate when Wilder yells bomb squad but at least he's entertaining, AJ just comes off as a Self absorbed narcissist which is amplified by his dullness. Could be wrong about AJ but that is how he comes off.

This is a fair comment and I thought about it since watching the boring 12 round fight that was Joshua-Parker.

Saying that tho I think they knew that Parker’s only hope was to set traps, move ALOT and try and either catch Joshua on the way in (which he obviously had trained for) or win a points decision.

Against Wilder I think it’s been shown the best form of defence is attack. So I do actually think Joshua-Wilder will give us a true heavyweight fight, not a chess match...

IF IT EVER HAPPENS THAT IS, Lol
