The crowd looked like less than 200 people. The venue looked really small. Can anybody shed some light on this?
Anybody notice the audience in the Lara.Hurd fight?

It was at the Hard Rock. Lara doesn't sell tickets and Hurd isn't really known. They needed casino money and Floyd's name on it to make that fight because putting it anywhere else would've probably sold around the same number of tickets
But that's one of those fights you wished you would've went to in an intimate setting like that.

I was at the fight and it was probably one of the smaller crowds I've seen for a title fight. Looked like all the seats on the floor were filled but there wasn't many seats to begin with. The balcony where I was at had more than a few empty seats as well. I thought it was a cool venue though, very intimate to the ring and the balcony seats had a great view I thought.Comment

Yeah I was a bit surprised it was such a small venue considering how good of a card it was.
I get it Lara is usually boring and Hurd isn’t that known but still I would have thought they could have fought somewhere a bit bigger. DeGale/Truax was a title fight too. I don’t know if DeGale still/ever brings over fans but Truax was a local Vegas fighter. Plus Floyd's name all over the card.
But hey from a tv perspective I like seeing the seats filled more than a bigger arena with holes in the front rows.Comment

A boring Cuban fighter who fights for al Haymon.
Haymon is the king of keeping fighters around who can't sell tickets and never become stars and get crappy tv ratings, yet keep getting tv time for some reason.
And Lara has no fans except for Floyd fans who pretend they enjoy watching Lara so that they can tell themselves Floyd is fun to watch.Comment
