I'm a little surprised this guy didn't jump at the chance. How many miles does he really expect to get out of that mustache?

He was wise to turn it down. He would have been quickly knocked out.

Can't blame the guy for not wanting to take on a big fight promising short money and a very short training window.

Having said that, O'Sullivan is definitely not talented enough to fight GGG this year. He couldn't avoid Douglas' punches, so how would he avoid GGG's? Maybe in a couple years he'd be ready for top 10 opponents, but at this point he certainly has a lot more work ahead of him to get to that level.

I hope this forces lil g to fight actual competitions. Charlo, Andrade Drenko I don't not how to spell his full name. But yeah pusssie g is getting cornered.

Now that he has some Lions as his mando he is not so eager to face them. When it was Wade, and Monroe, and other bums that have done ABSOLETLY nothing of note he was all for it.

I knew he was bytch made but pusssie g is really a fuucking fraud. I called this though

Why is pusssie g trying to fight this bum and was trying to fight a 21 year old WHO nobody heard of? But not trying to face Andrade? Not trying to face Charlo? Not trying to face Sergiy Drencko.

You would want to see pusssie g take on O'Sullivan. I hope pusssie g mans up and fights Andrade he has been calling his bytch ass out and still no answer. Fuuck pussie g and anybody that supports that hyped up fraud

Popping up on more and more sites is that they’re (Golden Boy) paying Spike not to take the fight hoping Golovkin may just have the same time off as Canelo (pending he gets 6 months. Vegas bookies are saying he gets a year suspension which—wow).

You never know who your ticket will be called, but then again ggg is a couple steps above Prescott so he would definitely want to be prepared adequately for this type of opportunity. At least the guy doesn't see himself as some "Also ran" but as a real contender and won't allow himself to not put his best foot forward.
Pure speculation, but if GBP did want to make things difficult for Golovkin to fight on Cinco de Mayo one of the ways they could do it would be to dangle a potential replacement out there and then change their minds after wasting a week or so, leaving him with even less chance of a legit opponent.

Not only that but GBP have moved pretty fast to grab a weekend date of their own at the Stubhub, the day before GGG is booked to fight. Although there are legitimate financial reasons for GBP to capitalise on the Cinco de Mayo vacuum, it could be more than co-incidence that this would reduce the take of a Golovkin fight still further.

Of course, this smacks of a level of duplicity that is beyond what we'd expect from a respected boxing promotion like GBP so the offered explanation of a short purse is what we should probably accept. But if the finances are really so short that even Spike can't be convinced to fight then we can hardly expect anyone better to show up... unless we're expecting Golovkin to pay out of his own pocket.

Clearly at this stage the best thing is just to scrap the whole sorry mess and start looking for a new date.

They never gave Rocky a chance against Creed in the first fight...look what happened afterwards.

Tough for fighters like Spike to be used as pawns in this way. But it was a dumb fight anyway. Spike is 4-5 levels below Golovkin.
