Well, how about we meet in the middle? There are too many draws now and sometimes the 12th comes just when a guy is starting to emerge. On the other hand 15 is too long and too dangerous.

    Therefore we go 13!!!!

That gives us a odd number and its just one more round. How exciting would that be if we add that now? Everyone would love to see a 13 round fight and you would get alot more clear winners

Right, and as soon as that is done the AMA is calling for the banning of the sport again.

If any of you have done any real fighting you would understand the damage that can be done in those extra 9 minutes. TV time may have played a miniscule part in the restructuring. Yet the death of Duk Koo Kim was in a bout scheduled for 15 rounds that was televised. Whats your response on that?

Thats what people use to say but then I seen a show on boxing one day and they said that **** is just a myth. They said there is no real proof that suggest that and there have been plenty of deaths in the ring of 12 round fights or fights that have been stopped early.

I still think its too dangerous, though

Personally, I would like it if they went down to ten rounds. Nowadays, especially heavyweights do not have that great stamina. So, the energy they usually have for twelve rounds would be used for ten rounds only => more action.

It's pretty clear that no one here has any real experience with fighting, or any common sense, either. If guys are near dead at 12 as it is, what the **** would an extra 3 rounds do besides injure them? Not a whole lot really. A guy winning simply because he conditioned better would be ridiculous anyhow. I'd rather the guys be slightly less conditioned than they used to be (if they really are), and see better boxing for 12 rounds, rather than a masterful boxer get KO'ed or TKO'ed in the 13th, 14th, or 15th because his conditioning was not as good as the other fighters.

Heart is great and all, but only when it's not getting a guy killed.
