Spike O'Sullivan out. Yamaguchi Falcao called up from the bullpen

Unified middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin remains without an opponent for May 5 and it won't be Gary "Spike" O'Sullivan, who has for weeks been the leading candidate. Golden Boy Promotions president Eric Gomez told ESPN on Wednesday that O'Sullivan has declined an offer made to fill in as GGG's opponent with Canelo Alvarez having dropped out because of his two positive drug tests. It remains to be seen if Golovkin will go forward with a fight on May 5 but if he does the fight will move from HBO PPV to regular HBO and it would also move from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas to the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

            I'm 156,3.
I'll take the fight for $500,000 and a night with a ring girl of my choice. I might last 5 minutes. Maybe even 3 rounds in the ring.

They offered Munguai $750K.. guys like Spike, Andrade and Derevyanchenko are gonna expect more than that. if Spike was not happy with the $$ offer then Andrade needs to just stop talking because they will offer him less than Spike.

Munguai brings something to the table. He's Mexican, undefeated and will not be a headache to negotiate with. That's why he's their preferred target for a fight taking place on a date designed to attract Mexicans.

At this point its either Munguia or no fight at all.

LMAO! it's clear GGG doesn't want to fight anybody with a pulse or move the date to get a better fight. And Lou is on the IBF to strip him if he doesn't fight his mandatory.

But didn't that offer come when they were still thinking of having it on PPV? I doubt the number stayed the same after moving it to regular HBO. Last I read, the offer HBO made wasn't pretty low to the point of Tom L thinking of canceling the fight all together.
