Instead of Trout and Lara wearing Hurd down, he kept coming and wore them down.
I didn't see that. Only in the last round when blood was pouring into his eye, is when he got defensive. He should have stay inside and hold. He couldn't see from the right eye and never saw the left hook that put him down. It was as close as you can score a fight. I don't know how hurd can make weight. The guy look like a light-heavyweight. I don't believe he was 163 at fight night, in the morning maybe, inside that ring he was way more than that. Lara has some balls...

Why not, why wait until he is 40?

If you watched Lara closely you could tell he was uneasy facing Hurd. I started seeing doubt on his face starting in the third round. I give him props for toughing it out and not quit. The rematch won't be any easier because Hurd will do the same thing and once the doubt start creeping in again he won't last.

I'm not a mind reader and I saw a guy that never changed his expression. hurd can and probably will do the same thing, but Lara can adjust. My only doubt with Lara is his age. He did terrific and if not for the knockdown he will still a Champ today. He was in more trouble against angulo and came out on top. I don't see any reason why he will quit if he is in a close fight again.

Lara's face was a mess. If you watch the fight again, you'll see where Lara's punch output was reduced while Hurd's increased as it wore on. That short hook that dropped him didn't really have a lot on it. Lara was so spent at that point, he couldn't weather it. I do agree that Hurd is way bigger. I'm sure he'll move up soon.

He didn't see the punch, his eye was a mess because it was cut. He didn't took a beating to face, he got hit more to the body and arms. If he was that spent he would had stayed down. Again, Lara is the only Cuban that trains for 12 rounds.

The body shots are what wore him down. His left cheek was swollen as was his right eye. It wasn't just cut. Anyway, it was a great fight and I thought Lara would have barely won, if not for the KD. Although the judges would have ruled it a draw without the KD.

Great fight but Hurd ends him in a rematch!

He'll be more confident in stopping Lara and more motivated to be the first to do it!

And hurd was unscathed? It was a fight, they hit each other hard, hurd state that Lara hit him harder than anyone before. A one point fight. The funny thing is that hurd doesn't believe Lara should get a rematch even thought he could have loss the fight.
