Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Coach: PED Mess Can Follow Canelo For a Long Time

Abel Sanchez, trainer for IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight world champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs), was very anxious to see his boxer face Canelo Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs) in a rematch. However, last week the Mexican superstar withdrew from the rematch that was scheduled for next May 5th - as he faces a possible long-term suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) after testing positive for the banned substance clenbuterol back in February.

I bet Clenelo Alvaroid will not come in looking like Rambo in his next fight. I don’t think he will be ****** enough to get the Clen advantage next time.

****** is as ****** does... If he was dumb enough to do it for the rematch of the 2nd biggest fight that he's ever been a part of then I wouldn't put it past him to do it again.

I think it's ruined his reputation - I was surprised that the scandal got so huge honestly, I was expecting it all to get swept under the rug

You can sweep dirt under a rug but you can't hide a steak under one. Lol.

It’s one thing if you fail a test for something you could buy at GNC that you just didn’t know was on the list of banned supplements. But to fail for something that you can’t buy over the counter that has serious performance enhancing benefits I feel the fighter should be either banned for life from the sport or receive criminal charges. You could literally kill someone in the ring.

His reputation has always been a smug POS. He beat up that flyweight Mexican boxer on a street. That’s right, a vastly smaller man.

Clenelo takes any advantage given to him

Unless Canelo provides proof it was meat it's obvious he'll have that cloud over him for a while. It also depends too on how he looks from this point on. If he begins plummeting a bit (which I don't necessarily think will happen) that will be a cause for su****ion. But beyond that, the Middleweight division by next year isn't exactly gonna be Disney Land as far as competition. All those guys are bigger, younger, hungrier than GGG is currently and Canelo himself will still only be 28-29 in next couple years. He has a MUCH harder road than what GGG has in the next 2 years. Let's see how this unfolds.
