Cruiserweight>Heavyweight, so why should Gassiev/Usyk move up?

The top 4 cruiserweights are all arguably better than the top heavyweights based on skills, in my opinion.

Now, that doesn't mean they'd win at heavyweight because the giants can just use their length and size advantage as we've seen over the last 20 or so years. But that would make for **** fights.

I would rather watch Gassiev fight Briedis than I would watch him school someone like Whyte or Breazeale. Usyk vs Dorticos would also be a fun fight.

They should move up for the money first of all, because after the finals there are no more big money fights at cruiser.

And arguably easier fights in the heavyweight division outside of a few big punchers

More money, that's the only reason... sad, isn't it?
I agree with you though, cruiserweight division is leaps and bounds ahead of the likes of the heavyweight division, infact, I say the cruiser division is the best division in boxing.

The tourney was a payday for them.

Apprantly the cash out was this.

          Eliminator: 1 Mil each fighter
          Semi Finals: 2.5-3 million each
Finals: 4 million for the loser, 8 million for the winner.

To me a lean boxer who weighs 200 pounds at the weigh in and maybe 215 pounds on fight night is really a heavyweight and about as heavy or heavier than some great heavyweight champion of the past. Hell, Wilder weighed 214 for Ortiz. The best cruiserweights might beat the best heavyweights if they fought them. They are big enough and if they are giving up size they can make up for it with better speed, skills, work rate and stamina.

if he wants to become a bigger name and make bigger money he can but hes dominant where he is, and most classes under HW will obviously be more skilled. Hed have success at HW but those dudes are monsters

I like the idea of Gassiev at heavyweight. He looks far more fundamentally sound than many of the guys AJ or wilder have been facing. He's got a good chin, good power, good height and a good enough workrate to trouble them, I think those attributes combined are more than enough to overcome size.

                    Exactly.

It's really annoying that there's this feeling that they should move up to make more money. Really, the fans should be paying for the best fights, which are at cruiserweight. That's where the money should be.
