We can talk abut PPV too. Sky Sports is a subscription based service right? When they do PPV's, they get like £25 right? If I'm wrong here, give me the goods. I cut like a knife and knowledge is power.

Absolutely, but that was a long time ago --- 23 years to be exact. Times change, marketing gets better and more money is up for grabs.
Still, the bottom line is PPV's will always trump attendance when it comes to a fight this big. There's no getting around it.

Why do you post gates of actual superstars like Dela Hoya and Tyson? Wilder is no superstar, why dont you post Wilders gates and numbers??
Wilder vs Ortiz had ticket prices between $50 and $1100, average about $130, even if we assume that no tickets were given away and they actually sold all 14k then the gate for Wilder Ortiz was ~$1.8 Million
Wilder vs Ortiz had a gate of ~$1.8 Million
Joshua vs Klitschko had a gate of ~$12 Million
Wilder has not sold a single PPV yet and you post numbers from Tyson and Oscar de la Hoya to compare to Wilder who is a total nobody compared to these stars?

Neither of these fighters have a big enough profile to truly hit those heights. There's not a hispanic fighter to attract the passionate Latino audience either.
The fight is guaranteed to make a fortune in the UK. All the Vegas figures bandied around are highly speculative and laced with risk.

They don't have uncertainty in the UK. You know the fight does 1.25-1.5 million buys. You know the fight sells out, they can probably bump the ticket prices significantly, you know both Showtime, and HBO will pay huge money for the rights, as well as RTL and quite a few big markets in Europe. Due to the high profile nature of having it in the UK sponsorship will be that much greater.
Seriously...sit down!

Like, how long have you been watching Boxing? Because your first post sounds like you just started watching like 2 years ago. Step up your game young grasshopper.

The problem is that boxing has been a sport in decline in the US for the last 20 or more years. You're referencing figures from a time when there were simply more people interested in the outcome and fewer alternative for their dollars.
