    Lomachenko's world records

Record tied - Fewest fights to win a world title, 3 (Saensak Muangsurin)

Record set - Fewest fights to win a world title in two weight classes, 7 (Naoya Inoue, 8)

Record set - Fewest fights to win a world title in three weight classes, 12 (Kazuto Ioka, 18)

    Pretty cool.

Pulling that off at his weight is pretty impressive.

That record is a publicity stunt he fought in and was paid for fighting which is technically what separates amatures from professionals.

But..... he is as smooth as shea butter and he impresses me regardless I enjoy watching him and I’m glad I no longer need hbo and their showcase fights to see him giving that work.

I've been curious why that tournament wasn't considered as pro, since they were 10 round fights, 3 minute rounds and no head gear...

Because without arum recognizing it it can now be used as a promotional tool. But like I said before lomo is a talent but the extra bs to make him seem larger than life l personally can do without. He doesn’t need it his talents stand on their own.

Amateurs can get paid. And wsb system is still very different to the professional system, it's amateur boxing with a few modified rules

I'm just using BoxRec buddy. WSOB is like the minor leagues. AAA baseball stats don't count for MLB even if you're getting paid. G-League doesn't count for NBA stats. It's semi-pro.

Amateur boxers get paid to compete, so should all of the amateur bouts count into their professional record?
