Maybe he's slowed down somewhat, but then again Lara has always been limited inside so a fighter who can take a punch and pressure like Herd is a tough stylistic matchup for him. Molina outworked him inside and should have gotten the decision years back IMHO and even Angulo was able to pin him against the ropes and hurt him.

This loss had nothing to do with being past it.

He's still got legs. When he did move Hurd was right there. I think he decided to stop using that movement because it was a waste of energy. Hurd has unorthodox footwork but long legs and makes up ground quick. Lara fought better toe to toe imo

If Lara tried to stick and move he would've gassed faster. Listen to Paulie he explained it. He's not passed it that was his gameplan. But the beating he took probably shaved a few years off his future in boxing. Close on the cards but Hurd's punches were more impactful.

it's a bad plan to fight in the trenches with a much bigger stronger younger man.......

The plan didn't seem so bad to me. Lara was a round away from winning the fight.

His legs seemed to be gone.

As Yoda said in Empire Strikes Back, "Always with boxing fans, what cannot be done." For some reasons fans of this sport always look at the negative and glass half empty side of things. Nobody in the history of the sport has ever recorded a good, legit win. There was always something up with the opponent that undermined the credibility of the victory. 99% of fighters are "bums" and the 1% that aren't, automatically become bums after they take their first loss or don't look great in a victory. That and some people are never pleased with any fight, I've already seen some posts saying this was a **** fight between 2 unskilled, ****bags. We, as boxing fans, are truly the worst fanbase in professional sports.

Great fight and a very good night of boxing. Get a couple appetizers on Thursday and Friday this coming week, nothing notable on Saturday but then an absolutely great day of fights on the 21st. I'm already looking forward to it.

And don't forget the part where "if you do look good in victory it's because you were fighting a bum!"

He’s past it somewhat and Lara has never been a high volume puncher but it was a really close fight. Charlo kills him though....
