Hurd's offense turns into his defense, especially when he wears down his opponent. Towards the end of the fight how many times did Hurd throw combinations without anything coming back?

The problem with guys like Hurd is that when he gets in there with someone that hits hard enough to keep him off them, he goes from a B/B+ fighter to a D fighter really quickly. And even a highly skilled guy that can’t hurt him will give him fits because he follows guys around the ring instead of cutting the ring off. That’s what separates a guy like GGG from guys like Hurd. GGG cuts off escape routes and is always in position to get his offense off. Where Hurd is pretty dependent on his opponent being fatigued to be effective offensively. GGG didn’t do a very good job of cutting the ring off against Canelo. But normally, it’s the strongest part of his game.

The problem with your point is that Hurd WAS landing. My own eyes, the punchstats and Lara’s lumped up eyes and diminished punch resistance as the fight wore on verify this.

That facts that alot of his punches getting blocked and Hurd landed a lot can BOTH be true.

hurd wasn't landing a lot until the middle rounds. Lara took a lot of early. Hurd took a lot of late and the knockdown won the fight. I had it 104-103 as well. It wasn't a blowout by any means. there was no 10-2. Coming forward and throwing punches does not mean your winning the fight. If that's the case, mayweather and sweet pea wouldn't have won as many fights as they have. Hbo has seriously ****ed up the minds of boxing fans of how to score a fight. If we want to score by those standards, Kassim Ouma should have never lost a decision. Cuz no one has threw more punches than him the past 10 years
