Comments Thread For: Truax: I'm Ready To Silence The Critics, Silence James DeGale

Caleb Truax and the word complacent' do not go together. If they did, he would have been complacent to just be a contender, make decent money in boxing and move on from the sport when he finally hangs up the gloves for good. Instead, Truax put all his energy and determination into winning a world title belt, probably the furthest thing many boxing fans thought would have happened when he squared off against James DeGale almost four months ago.

Truax's determination reminds me of Glen Johnson.

Truax is nothing more than a bum that caught a top fighter at the right time, much like Johnson. Johnson was just fortunate enough to have about a million stars align for him twice in the same year.

Who are you to call any boxer a bum? You had any pro fights, sparky?

If you suck at what you do, at the level you’re doing it at, you’re a bum. I’ve never worked as a fast food employee. But I feel like I’m plenty qualified to say the cook ****** if my **** doesn’t taste right. Or the person at the drive thru window sux if my order comes out wrong.

I expect Truax to win again, wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a corner stoppage.

Degale is a chronic excuse maker, I’m not buying it anymore. Show me rather than tell me. If he proves me wrong great but with Degale you see brilliance for a couple rounds but overall he dissappoints.

"Determination" does not translate as "class". Both Truax and Johnson overachieved for a reason or another, but you can't question their determination. Still, I'd rate Johnson a class above Truax.

Having said that, last night Truax indeed fought like a genuine bum (making me lose money in the process).

And DeGale struggled even with that version, which says a lot about his current state.
