He's probably still erect over the little nose bleed Cotto gave Floyd.

I just can't get on board with the Martinez win. Dude had half a leg in that fight.
see the thing about that is that almost nobody was saying that before the fight. you can dig up old articles here before the fight was signed. majority of people were saying Cotto didn't belong at the weight and Martinez would beat him. that's just one of those situations where people play monday morning quarterback. it was a great win in my book.

Mosley was about the only good one and that was close. Pretty much all of his other wins were against past prime or injured fighters

            Joshua Clottey
            Antonio Margarito
            Sergio Martinez

these are all great/notable wins. at least I think so.
            Of course they are.

I saw some guy posting about how Judah is a laughable win but he is one of Mayweathers top 6 or 7 wins lol

Clottey is another terrific win in a close, controversial fight. People forget just hot big and strong and durable Clottey was back then.

I agree, the Torres fight is one of Cotto's finest moments, rocked and hurt and pulls out the win.

It's also important to note Cotto got in the ring with a prime Margarito, who Mayweather avoided like the plague, got in the ring with a prime Pacquiao and got in the ring with the best version of Mosley faced by Cotto, May or Pac.

He beat something like 15 world champions, most of which were reigning or future.

Fought the best of his era at times when they were at or near their best. Very good performance against Floyd, and I thought the Canelo fight was closer than the scorecards suggested.

People don't give Cotto any credit for the Martinez win, but it was obvious that first left hook that shook him up caused the injury to reoccur. Before that he was moving freely, I'm not saying he was in perfect working condition, and the knee didn't hold up, but Martinez self admittedly went through the camp and sparring without incident, so Cotto should be given credit for that initial left hook.

              Best wins:

              Mosley
              Clottey
              Judah
              Margarito
              Quintana

In that order. People might be surprised by Quintana, but at the time for his first fight up at 147lbs against an undefeated guy who could punch, had skill, and was technically sound was a big ask. Cotto destroyed him. Lots of people were picking Quintana on here.

Keep seeing Martinez on people's lists. You can include a win over a disabled man as one of Cottos best. It's an insult to Cotto if anything. He has enough credible wins to mention without claiming that farce was one of his best.

Your standards are low for you to call his fight over a 39 year old Martinez a Great win . Specially with his knee tore up .
Not surprised though . Cotton did the same thing with Yuri Foreman .

Oh jesus, the revisionists are coming to **** on Cotto now?

Yeah, his resume isn't the greatest, and yes he gained more in his losses than his wins sometimes, but the guy was good for the sport, entertaining, a gentlemen and got his revenge which everyone wanted.
