As BoxingScene.com reported yesterday, Canelo Alvarez has withdrawn from his proposed May 5 super-fight with unified middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin. The rematch, that was scheduled to follow a blockbuster first encounter ending with a controversial draw between the two last September in Las Vegas, got in jeopardy following a pair of positive doping tests by the Mexican Alvarez in February.

I doubt it, I remember watching a video of him vs obodai sai and he got rocked in that fight. GGG would make quick work of him

The line to face GGG is longer than the Powerball line. A bunch of hopefuls but only 1 will get the winning ticket.

I'm hoping Loeffler can agree with DLH that O'Sullivan might not be the best choice. But time's running out, they need to confirm someone real soon.

Would be nice if they surprised us and Jacobs got the nod, but Jacobs is promoted by......Hearn, and Hearn needs at least 6 months to agree terms.

Another mediocre option, but it's interesting that everyone wants a piece of Golovkin all of a sudden after he was ducked for years.

Let him have Eubank Jr. Styles make fights and Jr is coming off a tough loss. If Sr can negotiate, which is doubtful, that'll be a good fight.
