I was a huge price fan until the second Thompson fight, he gave up, to me he’s a version of Audly Harrison with a huge punch.

Thing is, Price could have easily won this fight but he is so tentative and afraid to open up that he doesn't follow up when he hurts someone. He is so afraid to get hit that he won't let his hands go to take advantage of opportunities that are there for him. He won't even commit to throwing a stiff jab because he doesn't want to get caught or countered. He may not have a good chin or even know what the definition of stamina is but he should be beating a lot of these guys based on his size, reach and power alone. He's just subconsciously too scared to expose himself by going for the win. I was actually surprised he got up from that 1st knockdown. That was a big shot and I didn't think his chin could survive a shot like that.
I wanted him to win so he could get a big fight and a big payday but maybe it's for the best. Putting someone in the ring with Wilder or Joshua that fights as scared and tentative as he does would be extremely dangerous to his well being. Good guy, wish him the best.

Povetkin makes it the 5th time David Price has been KOed.
Price’s career, health and livelihood will never be the same...its over. PED users will go on.Last edited by factsarenice; 04-04-2018, 08:31 PM.

Regardless of how bad this courageous trooper is, those two test positives for PEDS should have resulted in disqualification losses. Are not these athletes lives more important than to ignore blatant cheating. This is crazy.
No wonder boxings internal reputation has a massive black eye.....or should I say punctured lung......Its OK that boxing doesnt seem appropriate for Price, no shame in that......but I'm really surprised boxing hasnt reached that next level as of yet with regard to blatant cheating.
Shane Mosley also got one over on Oscar and that fight was more high profile. Anything goes in boxing - even greedy promoters stacking pots of gold with no regulations from anywhere. Sad state of affairs indeed.

At World level, 1 percent difference can be all that is needed to be the top dog.

Expect Whyte and other UK bums to suffer the same fate as soon as he's matched against a legit top fighter.

But yeh it was inevitable that Povetkin would destroy Price considering Price is basically glass. Price just had a punchers chance and was always gonna be outclassed by Povetkin.
You kinda gotta feel bad for Price to be fair. It was obviously too big an opportunity to pass up but let's face it Hearn wanted him in the ring with Povetkin so the UK public could witness him destroy someone to gain more clamour for a Joshua v Povetkin mandatory.
