..... Golovkin made an offer to the guy he wanted to fight, people need to start holding him accountable for his own decisions..... he had the last say, and he signed off on, every single opponent he faced..... just like every other fighter

Saunders said he can't fight in May he made that very clear. Prior to Saunders saying that Golovkin said he will be fighting in May on the date of the cancelled rematch. He also made that very clear. I am guessing Golovkin and Saunders will fight in Sept. There may be a problem with whether Canelo is allowed to spar while under suspension.

Spike is a **** fight true but as a last min opponent it is what it is, blame Canelo!

The only other fight apart from Canelo is the BJS fight, but he has already said he cant fight in May.

IMO GGG should just forget about Canelo altogether and move on, focus on BJS and try get that belt.

I mean realistically who else can GBP bring to the table at that weight? Lemieux wants to fight in Canada and star on this own fight card and is coming off getting beaten outright so he's not really an interesting matchup for a rematch angle. Sometimes a fighter has to concede fight rights to make matchups, that way the promoter has protection on their investment, similar to what happened in negotiations with Eubanks Jr where it was a Matchroom event thus they could pick who Golovkin's opponent was because they are on the hook for his contractual guarantee.

You have to admit in this case going from Canelo to Spike O'Sullivan its a gigantic step down and it looks like a b*tch move when we have two WAY better fighters saying they'd take the May 5th spot (Andrade and Deryvachenko).
I view the GGG fighting Spike in the same light as a Lemieux rematch, definitely don't want either of them.
