Just when there's a 50 percent chance of the fight happening GBP and canelo have a press conference cancelling the fight. There is no doubt in mind now that they did not want this fight to continue. How the **** do you cancel a fight with a 50 percent chance of happening. You've already incurred a loss so you might as well have a chance to recover if the fight goes on. You don't cancel it. Unless you don't want the rematch to happen. Perfect masterplan. We delay the fight 2 more years and fight ggg when he's 39.

I'm not sure I'm following you.

    1. If he only wanted to postpone the fight, he could have done it in a better way than getting popped for PEDs.

    2. It made sense to cancel. First of all, it was unlikely that it would happen, but even if he would have been able to clear his name and have the fight go on as scheduled, the event has already taken a hit. Refunds were offered and most people feel certain that it was doomed to not happen. The event was leaking money, and on top of that "promotion" just centered around the drug test, the failed test presented obvious distractions, etc. It completely made sense for them to scrap it if based on nothing but it being obvious that it would not have the full economic effect that this fight should.

It can also be seen as a courteous thing to do. Now GGG and potential opponents have more time to get their fight settled.
