To be fair even as a Golovkin fan I agree that this fight not happening is a big kick in the wallet to him, there just isn't a bigger draw for that $$$ than Canelo anywhere else there isn't that money waiting for Golovkin at 154 (well maybe there is a decent payday for him going down for a rematch with Kell) and there isn't that sort of payday at 168.

I hope the fight still goes ahead because I get a scary feeling that If it doesn't we will be looking at an absolute trash opponent like Gary Spike O'Sullivan being brought in to replace Nelo.

For all the talk of where GGG goes, there aren't many places for Canelo to turn. At 160 he is facing Charlo (who he ducked at 154), Jacobs, Saunders. GGG likely gets to Saunders first. Canelo is too fat to go back to 154 and there is no money to be made at 168. What big names are left?
