Ok, let's pump the brakes on Manny.

    All I hear is

"finally Manny will get a knockout!!" (Same was said about Jeff "The Hornet" Horn.)

"Manny deserves this payday!!" (despite being offered a bigger payday to rematch Jeff "The Hornet" Horn.)

"Manny's got enough to beat Lucas!!" (despite getting bullied by Jeff "The Hornet" Horn.)

Look, I get it. He's afraid. Scared to take the WBO belt, so he runs to the WBA champion instead.

I think it's a bad fight, for one reason: It continues to give Manny excuses.

If he beats Lucas, they'll say "Manny's back!!!" despite continuing to duck The Hornet.

If Lucas decisions him, they'll say "see, told you Manny's washed up".

If Lucas sparks him cold, they'll say "time to hang em up Manny"/ "he should never have taken this fight"

Neither Matthysse nor Horn will get the credit they deserve: Horn for softening Manny up and snatching his soul, and Lucas for joining the elite class of fighters who beat Manny along with Horn.

I think the proper term would be that he gored his soul with the big horn up between Manny's down under region.

Pacquiao did a good job against Horn. These days, I bet most refs would've stopped the fight in the 9th round. Horn barely survived that round.

The telling thing about that fight, is Pacquiao spent everything that 9th round. He couldn't finish the job. A younger version of Pacquiao would've continued the onslaught. Also remember. A lot of people had Pacquiao winning. Me included. Horn's nothing special.

Pacquiao is clearly not the fighter he once was. Pacquiaos right to not fight Horn a second time. Pacquiaos only getting older.

This version of Pacquiao, anyone has a chance of beating him. He should've hung up the gloves after the Floyd fight. He obviously needs money.

I dont understand why Manny would not re-match Horn.
I had the fight going either way possibly even a draw but Horn got the nod so we must accept that.
What i dont get is why unless Manny is shook of Horn why he didnt want that re-match?
Guess Horn really did shake Manny up that hot aussie day.
And the right man got the win.

Why would Manny fight Horn in Australia again? He'd just get robbed again.

Maybe cause that is were the most money is at and because Horn is the a side in the negotiations cause he owns the belt. Plus so Manny can prove to the doubters that he can beat Horn in his own backyard.

Maybe in order to rematch Horn he would have had to sign an extension with Bob. Lets all be happy that Manny is finally free of Bob and his right hand "do anything for money" man Roach.

He already beat Horn in his backyard, but Horn got a gift decision. He's only beating Horn via KO, and he couldn't pull it off the first time around. Pac's got a better chance at a fair shake against Matthysse.

I dunno, this matchup is a little odd. I think Matthysse is almost as shot as Pacquiao is, he's looked sluggish and unmotivated in his last few fights, so on the one hand the fight is low risk... but then again he's still a huge ****er and it's not like Manny's especially hard to hit so it's also high risk. Win or lose, I think is probably going to be Manny's last fight, however. If you see this as like a swansong matchup it makes sense, Matthysse is still a name, and provides enough risk to make the fight somewhat interesting, but not too much. There's the risk he could lose, but the prospect of him getting humiliated against someone like Crawford isn't really there. If you look at it as one last fight against a known commodity and the payday that comes with it, it all adds up.
