Jessie Vargas says Thurman turned him down TWICE! And he'll fight Spence

“[Thurman] chose not to take the fight against me. He said it clearly and even with my long layoff, I was willing to fight Keith Thurman coming off that long layoff. But he wasn’t ready because he had the injury and wanted more time off. That’s when I took the fight in December against Herrera. After the fight, I assumed we would get into negotiations and he still refused to fight me, so I got to give credit to Broner. Adrien Broner took on a fight, took on a challenge that not even Keith Thurman was willing to take,”
This is the only one I believe when he says he'll fight Spence

“Definitely [a fight against Spence interests me]. I want to fight against anyone. I’ve shown in the past that I’m willing to fight anybody in the division especially if they hold a title. A fight against Spence, Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, it doesn’t matter who it is against. I’m ready for anybody. Of course, I’m not looking ahead of my next challenge, my next opponent, who is Adrien Broner. We’re staying concentrated on him and once I come out victorious, then we’ll plan ahead and see what’s next. But definitely yeah those are fights that could be made against Spence, Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, against anybody that the fans pay attention and want to see,”
In an interview with Fightful, Jessie Vargas opens up about his failed fight negotiations with Keith Thurman and potentially fighting Errol Spence Jr.

we have seen the last of thurman on the elite stage. he's trying to floyd it from here on out. thurman had his scare against porter like floyd had his against castillo and they just never recovered mentally. they lost the invincible attitude that they took with them into the ring. they became hawk-eyed cherry pickers looking for the next baldomir to spring up so they could pounce. they shrugged off elite fighters and made up excuses out the ass. we need to prevent another floyd. thurman vs spence this year or thurman is retired

Normally im all for boxers taking their time coming back after long injury breaks. But it might be best if the wbc and wba just strip him of his titles. Even when he does come back he's not fighting anyone with a pulse for a long while. And that opens up the log jam at ww where everyone seems to be avoiding each other to get a thurman fight.

I feel like nothing's happened in this welterweight division for a long time now. Since keith left all these guys have just sort of hung around for a rematch or the guys that haven't fought him yet have just joined the line-up to fight him. ***ing fight each other.

He has his work cut out for him beating Broner. I think he will beat Broner and that should make him a bigger star. He has no fear of any welterweight and will fight any of them. If he does get a Spence fight he will get KOed in my opinion.
