Give Daniel Jacobs another shot. I have great seats for his upcoming fight in Brooklyn but he deserves another go with GGG. This is the most logical opponent but I believe that he is too tough an opponent for all involved to accept.
I mean that was a decent response...but you didn't really go into detail as to why you don't like his resume. I think he has at least 15 good-great guys on his resume, as I mentioned prior. His list (based on when he fought the guy)
Great list
1) Jacobs
2) Canelo
3) Murray
Very good list
4) Lemeiux
5) Brook
6) Geale
7) Stevens
8) Ouma
9) Monroe
10) Macklin
11) Prozksa
Good list
12) Rubio
13) Rosado
14) Adama
15) Ishida
16) Wade
Something like that
Murray has never beat anyone decent, and he's fought many of them. Canelo is very good, but unfortunately the W didn't happen. That leaves Jacobs, who has a so/so resume himself.
No one on that very good list is very good at all. Brook jumped 2 weight classes for the first and only time. And, calling Wade a good fighter is a credibility killer.
I like GG and think it's cool you like him. But, unfortunately his resume is just not there. If he fought good fighters, I think he would have a strong resume because he's a very good fighter and in his prime would have probably finished Canelo. But, it is what it is. Celebrate the fact he's an exciting fighter, but let's not embellish the quality of his resume.
I would like to point out that the discussion was about how long you need to be in camp. 3-4 weeks is more than enough for any physical/tactical training. And yeah I actually have boxed before.
I agree that finding a sparring partner on 3 weeks notice would be difficult...but this has been going on for a month now already...will be 2 months on May 5th.
And we've gone at least a few weeks since the real buzz is out there that the fight may be cancelled. If you are a pro, you should be able to line up a contingency plan to fight a guy on short notice - especially if it is worth it. And I would definitely say this shot is worth it for all the other middleweights.
Basically the rumors of this being cancelled started 2 weeks ago - that gives a guy six weeks to prepare for it, and at least a couple weeks to line up a good sparring partner.
I agree it is not an ideal situation at all, but that's life. Would be a great opportunity for someone to fight GGG and possibly take his belts/shine away from him. Remember he would be fighting on short notice too, it's fair in a way.
Anyway I really hope they don't put him in there with Spike. Loeffler is good sometimes, but sometimes I wonder how in the hell he got lucky to get GGG
Boxing isn't UFC where a Hollly Helm can stomp the best UFC fighter like nothing.
nothing.
Strike 2?? That ****** motherfuccer should be banned for life with the ****** shet he's coming up with today....
Triple g has a strong resume??
Is he talking about the same Triple g that is supposed to fight Canelo??
He just has never boxed before?? He's trying to learn??? He just has no clue.... 3 weeks to train for a p4per??? To train properly you need at LEAST 8 weeks and another 2 weeks to get the right sparring partner. This guy thinks you can go into any Wal-Mart and pick them off the shelf. Lol
