Ivan Kirpa, the trainer of Russian heavyweight Alexander Povetkin, sees no point in taking part in a fight with British contender Dillian Whyte. On Saturday, Povetkin knocked out David Price in brutal fashion in the fifth round. The contest took place before a crowd of nearly 80,000 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

Yes it makes no sense, Hearn can see he is a threat

Where are all the Ofay's calling a Povetkin a b*tch for not fighting Whyte?

There's really no point for Whyte either, it would make more sense to take the IBF mandatory or wait for a shot at the WBC

There is a point. Fight Whyte so we can have AJ vs Wilder please. Oh, and no more PEDs either.

This was so obvious his basically mandatory for AJ in WBA and WBO so there's no gain fighting Whyte.

I think Hearn will have to settle for Whyte v Pulev as Wilder will fight Breazeale next if the AJ fight doesn't happen.

Not sure of Joshua's niggle with Pulev continues after Pulev pulled out, but would Pulev even consider Whyte if he has a potential door back into the big one with Joshua ?

Meantime Hearn is REALLY having difficulty finding a dance partner for Whyte, so might indeed be that Hearn pulls the 'no fight with Joshua unless you get past Whyte' card with Pulev.

Else we're in danger of Whyte vs Chisora II at this rate, which was a great scrap first time around, no reason II wouldn't be fun too. And a Chisora win would enable Hearn to argue for.....wait for it......Joshua v Chisora.
