I see boxers look like dog **** against opponents who have a little movement. They don't cut the ring off and can't land shots, and when the opponent gets in close all they do is hold or lean on them. Where is the inside fighting?
Is cutting off the ring and inside fighting a dead art?

Yeah the two were punching and scrapping and they were pulled apart. It didn’t make sense, there were instances where holding wasn’t even going on.Comment

That Inside Game will separate the Good Fighters from the GREAT ONES IMO
It is A LOT of poorly trained fighters currently in boxing so they can't do what the LEGENDS before them was able to do because they're not trained Properly to do it

Textbook On Cutting The Ring Off and knowing how to attack when you have your opponents trapped:

Now I'm see a lot of guys trap their opponents against the Ropes or in the Corner and they Freeze Up out of fear of being Countered and let them escape over and over
I seriously doubt a lot of these current fighters are studying The Greats! I think taking time for Film Study would really help instead of just being in the Gym doing the same ***ing drills everyday
The Legends was also STUDENTS OF THE GAME they could tell you about any and every fighter before them. I don't see that from this Generation Of Fighters!Last edited by sicko; 04-01-2018, 03:39 PM.Comment

The boxers and ref's have been the product of amateur boxing since 1976! The veteran officials (refs & judges) have now been gone for the past 25 years. You have amateur styled refs in the pro ranks. They don't want pressure fighters to maul and brawl
and that was a part of boxing going back to Dempsey and Greb.
When you give away extreme height and reach you must pressure and if you have success you must stray inside and work.
Today you see men throw one or two shots then back out no0 matter if they land or not!
Joshua followed Parker all over the ring but never pressured him with punches. Parker ran just like I thought he would because he doesn't know how to work underneath and establish himself. He has no pivot moves once he gets inside. They both looked to hold as soon as the distance closed. ...They stink!!!

Yeah Inwas wondering why Joshua wasn't throwing more punches to trap Parker in a corner. I had expected him to start doing so in the middle rounds.
Last fight kind of proved to me that Joshua would be in trouble against Ortiz. He is very reliant on inside fighting and Ortiz is very skilled in that area. Joshua was not very impressive from the outside against a Parker who barely threw anything. Showtime commentators were really impressed with Parker. I thought he had right defense, but where was the combinations? You cant flick out a jab and win a championship fight.Comment

True indeed! It was sad schit last night! It was like the ref wanted no explosive start to ever happen. Like he sensed a real fight might break out, and he said oh hell no...lemme stop this before it starts!Comment
