Show Wilder in person all the fighters that have been maimed in this sport. All the men who have survived only to be left with no quality of life due to brain injuries or even the fighters who have given their body's to this sport to suffer later in life.

I'd expect a public apology after that.

Plenty of men don't go on in the sport because they realize the risks...or had a glimpse of it themselves. Boxing is no joke.

Also the risks are so much higher at heavyweight.

Honestly it was a pretty dumb and poor-taste comment that Wilder made. I don't expect boxers to be saints or anything but to say you want to kill somebody in the ring while the sport's under pressure in certain parts of the world after a bunch of fight-related deaths is poor optics - I'm sure a lot of pro boxers actually do think that way, it's a violent sport that lends itself to a violent mindset, but it doesn't mean you have to say it out loud. You can express the same sentiment without needing to phrase it like that - just say you love scoring knockouts or something.

As an aside, though, I'm amused that the WBC say they're going to "investigate" Wilder for his comments. What are they going to investigate? He said it, the stuff's there to see / hear for yourself. Do they think that he's hiding something? Are WBC agents going to go out there and find that Wilder's actually been moonlighting as Buffalo Bill?
