I've agreed in my first post here that the only thing Mayweather may have not realized is that what's important is not only the fight, but what is done in training camp. I don't know if he took that into account in his statement, though he might have, knowing that it's still 2 months to the fight.

But here are the facts.

1. There were trace amounts found, which an expert stated wouldn't have enhanced Canelo to begin with.

2. He was at the very beginning of training camp. The earliest I could find of Canelo training was 12 days before Golden Boy notified everyone of the failed tests.

3. Clenbuterol enhances breathing and fat loss.


When you put all of that together, it's clear that there would be no enhancement for the remainder of training camp up until the fight and in the fight.

You don't micro-dose clenbuterol. The reason that the experts were willing to let him continue to go on is precisely for the reasons above. NSAC may choose to suspend him, but let's see if that is based on negligence or based on anti-doping. Seems to me it will be based on the former.

If Mayweather's statement is so wrong, then the experts that were willing to let this continue were wrong as well. Good luck proving that!
