Comments Thread For: Parker: I Haven't Decided if I Want to KO Joshua Or Win on Points

Joseph Parker is convinced he can knock out Anthony Joshua or beat his heavily favored opponent on points. The undefeated Parker exuded a quiet confidence Tuesday during a final press conference to promote their heavyweight title unification fight Saturday night in Cardiff, Wales. England's Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs) is an approximate 8-1 favorite entering their 12-round championship match for Joshua's IBF, IBO and WBA titles and Parker's WBO crown.

For a guy who for months was talking about how vulnerable Joshua is because of his weak chin he sure has toned all that KO talk down the last week or so. Not a very good sign to me. I think he is crazy to think he can stand in there and get hit by Joshua for 12 rounds, regardless of how good a chin he may have. Standing in there and taking punches from a heavy puncher like Joshua eventually gets to anyone. He needs to box aggressively, use movement, angles, and a jab to keep Joshua occupied. And while doing all of that, he needs to open up and try to hurt him early while not getting nailed. Gonna be tough.

Parker has two options.....either lose by knockout or lose by decision.

                    really dumb move

Wow, that's really dumb. Actually, that's surprisingly shocking. You guy have a fight in few days and you do not know your strategy? I guessed an athlete prepares a plan or a fight pattern during the whole camp. Not in this case I guess.
