Comments Thread For: Price Warns Povetkin: I'll Be at My Best Ever, Don't Care How I Win

David Price knows he faces a daunting task against Alexander Povetkin on Saturday night but is adamant he's capable of upsetting the odds with a career-defining performance. The Liverpudlian heavyweight (22-4-KO18) takes on Russia's Povetkin (33-1-KO23) on the undercard of Anthony Joshua's world title defence against Joseph Parker knowing one successful punch can set up a host of lucrative fights.

How awesome would it be if Price came in juiced to the gills against a clean Povetkin and ate Povetkin's punches like candy and blasted him completely out of the ring? All those losses to roided fighters and then the Big, Stiff Idiot turns the tables on the biggest juicer of them all. Would be poetic justice

Is it to much to hope Povetkin comes in clean, in shape, and lives up to his potential and gives the boxing fans one more legit HW for this era?

        Too much?

        Anyone? Anyone?

        Bueller?

Price has the worst defence for a big HW I have ever seen, and Povetkin is great at coming in low and landing explosive hooks..... I don't see Price going past 2 rounds.

Can't wait to see that look on his face when he gets hit clean, that terrified look when you know he wishes he wasn't in that ring.

Hey, props to Price for getting in there. This is his opportunity.

As long as he does not get KTFO within the first 2 to 3 rounds... it is a moral victory for him.

Unfortunately, I think Hearn wants Price to get KTFO in a vicious fashion in the first round or two so that it sells Povetkin as "Ivan Drago" against AJ.

I usually am very critical of UK ref's, in this instance I think Phil Edwards is needed to once again save David Price.
