Another thing which just keep wondering me.

It's like everybody in the world agrees that the NSAC, WBC, WBA, referees, judges, golden boy etc etc are corrupt. Shouldn't that be investigated by e.g. FBI? It seems mysterious that nobody are doing anything at all, but just have to accept that?

I live in Denmark so don't know how it works in US/Mexico, but here the prime minister was almost forced to leave the post because he bought a pair of shoes and paid with the tax payers money.

Boxing is the wild west. No one cares enough about it to regulate it.

The whole problem with boxing, a big part of the reason that it went into decline, is that it doesn't have a single organising body responsible for its health. Obviously those mega sporting orgs like FIFA or the NFL have tons of problems too, but there's question that having them brings a professionalism to the advancement and regulation of the sport that won't exist otherwise. Just imagine the chaos football would be in a country if there was no national football organisation there to plan and monitor everything from competitions to youth coaching to marketing. And the same goes for non-team sports like athletics too.

So without that, boxing is the poorly marketed, chaotically organised, and unregulated fiasco it is today. And it's largely unfixable without a higher level power like a national government imposing order. But that's not going to happen either. What would any politician gain from it?

I mean, look at how Golovkin came up and compare it to how Alvarez has always been coddled and favored. Is it any wonder why he'd have such a negative reaction to this? Hell, he'd be pissed even if the first fight hadn't happened. He went through bull**** for years and if this was him failing a drug test, he wouldn't get the protection or benefit of the doubt Canelo is.

This is boxing at its worse. Probably the biggest non-heavyweight fight in boxing has an obviously corrupt decision, there's a failed drug test ahead of the rematch, and everyone is trying to cover it up. **** like this is in large part why this sport has fallen so far. No matter what happens, the Golovkin/Alvarez saga reflects poorly on boxing.

It has happened in every single halfway competitive Alvarez fight since Trout. He always has at least one obviously bought scorecard in his favor. He'll have at least one in his favor this time, too. So we're looking at the possibility that Alvarez's failed test is sweeped under the rug and he ends up winning with another obviously biased decision.

Golovkin can have all the confidence in the world in himself but he sees this. He's not an idiot. He sees what is happening. Boxing has done this hundreds of times to fighters like him.
