So a temporary suspension that may not affect a single one of Canelo's fights "proves" the NSAC isn't corrupt. This is after they already robbed GGG and Kovalev and Perez (most blatantly) over the same of a year.
All this article proves to me is that Tom Loeffler is 100% a company man. He wants this fight to go on, he wants to maintain good relationships with Vegas for the remainder of his career which will last much longer than GGG's, and if his boxer has to fight a juiced opponent, and if his boxer has to have his legacy robbed from him, so be it! He's proven he could care less. I bet they won't even get the hand wrap thing resolved LOL, let alone this PED issue. GGG is going to be fighting a juiced opponent with stacked wraps come May 5th, and after the fight is over, Tom Loeffler is going to be praising the NSAC that let it happen, and Canelo's promoter who is probably also involved in what Canelo did, same as he did after the first fight.
I used to like Tom Loeffler. He never pressured potential GGG opponents enough for my liking to try to get them in the ring with GGG, but that was his tactics that I disagreed with. And he always seemed too diplomatic. But his intentions always seemed right. He always tried to make the best fights for GGG, probably because he knew GGG would handle anyone anyway in his prime so what did it matter? But he tried so I appreciated that.
But now, "diplomatic" Tom Loeffler has devolved into sellout politician Tom Loeffler. If GGG still wants the fight to happen, as do I, then fine, support your fighter and say that much, but to go so far beyond that and praise the commission that robbed GGG once already, and has a history of corruption? That's just the latest of many Loeffler comments that made me suspect he was a sellout, but this one takes the cake. Now I don't even doubt it anymore.
And Abel is the same, saying in an interview that money was more important than legacy. At least Tom is a smart sellout though. GGG's entire brand has been built on the "I like box, not business. I old school" credo, and there's Abel shooting a hole right through it, begging the question, was GGG lying all along? Was he just acting? Or is it just that his trainer has different priorities from his boxer?
Worse, not only does Abel undercut what GGG is supposed to represent outside the ring, but his ******ity is also going to get GGG hurt. Abel recently just said that if Canelo is allowed to stack his wraps again, he still won't stack GGG's in order to even the playing field. Way to start a negotiation, Abel, by giving away the farm before it starts! A true genius! All he had to do is tell one reporter, "it's fine, I'll just stack GGG's wraps too," and it would have taken less than 24 hours for the NSAC to issue a statement that stacking is no longer allowed in any fights under their jurisdiction. But since he said he won't stack GGG's wraps no matter what, the NSAC instead issued a statement that the practice is legal.
So unless Abel knew that, and he's just playing 3D chess so that he can change his mind at the last minute, wink win, now that the NSAC has affirmed that it's legal, and stack GGG's wraps on fight night against Canelo to help GGG get the knockout that he basically needs in order to get the win, then he's as ****** as they come. And that type of move does not seem like something that is in Abel's intellectual repertoire, although I hope I'm wrong.
