As stated later in the thread, LaMotta in his book, in his own words, described committing two ****s at a minimum, attempting to murder a man in cold blood-thinking he succeeded even though he apparently didn't, robberies, regular beatings of his women, thinking he murdered one of his women, once again being wrong, after attempting to roll her up in a carpet so he could dump her body somewhere, until he realized she was still breathing, and just generally being an absolute piece of ****. And he's beloved. They call Mayweather a coward, for likely being a serial woman beater, and LaMotta a great warrior, completely ignoring that he's on record admitting far more and far worse than someone like Mayweather or Stevenson is even seriously accused of doing, to my knowledge. Not that their accusations aren't bad enough, of course.

While it's bull**** that no charges were pressed, **** has a statue of limitations (which is BS) so once that time goes away, you can brag about it all you want and be safe. Nate Parker is a black director and was just subject of media scorn when it came out that he ****d someone in 1999. Statue of Limitations though.

I'd love to say "**** skin color" but my perception is that a large percentage of the fans around here do not share this attitude, either consciously or subconsciously, and they don't judge fighters even-handedly for evil **** they've done in life or probably done. But that point has nothing to do with legal punishment. I understand that the law can only do so much with these cases in different times and locations, etc. Fans don't have an arbitrary statute of limitations for their being generally positive or negative about a fighter who was probably a seriously bad guy, ya feel me?

I've noticed too many people on here that are willing to turn a blind eye to certain fighters just so it backs up their own "beliefs" but I'll hate a mother****er regardless of their melanin for what they do/did. I could support Stevenson because he's Canadian, because he's black, because etc. etc. etc. Fact is, he's a **** human being, so I don't like him.
