Toney is going to box circles around Peter. Peter swings so wide he won't lay a glove on JT.

While James doesn't have the power to hurt Peter, if he works him hard enough (remember that even in disgracefull shape vs Rahman Toney threw over 600 punches) I could see a tired and frustrated Peter stopped late.

Bad fight for Peter. What are they thinking?

Rahman threw over 1000 punches at James.

Peter threw what, 350 vs Wlad?

this will mark the end of james toney, he avoids right hands but is open for a left hook, peter's best punch., too big too strong, peter by kayo within 6 rounds

Is this fight being suggested anywhere specific? Is this purely hypothetical or has someone read somewhere that this might happen?
Let me know because it does sound like a crazy matchup.
Why would Toney risk his forthcoming championship fight to take on a dangerous prospect?
Doesn't sound likely but I'd love to be corrected.

I think that peters lamberjack style maybe too much for Toney.
Toney likes to stay on the ropes and in order to beat peter you gotta circle around him and keep him on the range.

Oh yeah, I also predict a lot of back of the head shots from peter, so that can really traumotize Toney, unless Peter is disqualified.

lol, Toney can drive to Burger King and back by the time Peter thows that hook to the time it lands.

Peter is WAY to slow to catch Toney.

                ahahahahahaa....

james toney would land well over 400 punches on peter if he came into the fight in ANY kind of decent fighting shape. peter is a free swinger who comes forward and james would eat him up.

unless peter is SO powerful that his blows that hit toneys shoulders and arms break them, james would have a relatively easy go at things.

peter might land 1 clean, hard shot on james in the fight and that my friends isn't enough to put away one of the toughest fighters of the last 30 years.

                toney by lopsided decision.

well said. what were peter's guys thinking?? toney is the last guy peter wants to see, hes going to get seriously schooled. once toney beats this guy, then beats rahman in the rematch, we should see the toney-wlad fight we've been waiting for. heres hoping toney comes in in shape for all 3

If Toney thinks he can show up fat as hell and stand in front of this guy....he's mistaken.

James doesn't get hit on the chin very often, but he gets hit everywhere else a lot. Against this guy that's dangerous.

He's giving up huuuge amounts of size, brute strength, age and power to Peter. No one can deny that.

Wlad had the perfect style to beat Sam Peter. Toney does not.

Not that he can't win it....he can.

But he had better come in some kind of shape, or else he's going to get pounded on for long periods of time and take major damage.

Either way, this is not an easy fight for him by any means.
