Freddie Roach is now training prospect Vicente Escobedo?

A friend of mine who has a very solid source in the Vicente "Chente" Escobedo camp just told me that Chente has just hired Roach as his new trainer. Escobedo, who was seen as the next Oscar De La Hoya, is coming off of his first lost. Don't know if you guys have seen him, but what do you think of this move?

I saw him at Wild Card, he looked real good workin out. Wish Escobedo the best, he is an Olympic buddy of my boy Vanes Martirosyan who has been trained by Freddie from day 1 as a pro.

These young guys can really learn alot from Roach.

I do think it will be a good thing for him. The problem is not Chente, but the people around him. Chente has a ton of talent and was capabily trained by Clemente Medina. I hope Roach can bring him back to the basics cuz his last trainer was really not much at all. He should have stayed with Medina. The Trainer after Medina just had nothing to offer.
