Comments Thread For: WBC Prez is Waiting For Mikey Garcia To Make His Decision

In the coming days, the World Boxing Council is hoping to receive a decision from Mikey Garcia (38-0, 30 KOs) to make up on his mind on what he intends to do in the near future. Earlier this month, Garcia moved up to the junior welterweight division and won a twelve round decision over Sergey Lipinets to capture the IBF world title. The victory made Garcia a four division world champion.

I hope the WBC keeps the Loma-Linares winner as the mandatory for Garcia. That can only help the fight happen sooner, or even if Garcia leaves the division, help us get to a fully unified champ sooner. That **** takes way too long these days, and it takes interest out of the sport because people stop following the story line when it never progresses or materializes. These sanctioning bodies need to start making it possible for the real fighters to go for all the belts within a year or two at the most, and either they win every fight and do it, or someone else beats them and they achieve it. Either way, the story has a beginning and an end within a shorter time frame that people can follow, and then chapter 2 can start when the unified champ defends against the best non-belter to emerge in that time frame, and the cycle can repeat from there. Constant story lines, constant good fights, constant progression, all of that equals a great sport that can grow in popularity and economic revenue and fan enjoyment, a big win for everyone. More popularity and economic revenue also means more money for the boxers in the future. Big win for everyone. Make it happen WBC.

Since 'Mickey Mouse' Garcia won the WBC lightweight title Jorge Linares has unified and defended three times ; this coming defense with Lomachenko will be his fourth against a P4P fighter.

Robert Easter Jr. like Linares has made three title defense against a former WBA superfeather-weight champion Javier Fortuna, perennial contenders Denis Shafikov and Richard Commey.

The former WBO champion euro-bum Terry 'Turbo' Flanagan defended that piece crap belt six times! and is competing for the WBO 140 title, but this fraud Mikey Garcia has yet to make a single defense, putting careers on hold -- like the #1. contender for his WBC title Yvan Mendy.

I think its safe to say Garcia is holding the WBC lightweight title hostage, and another thing I'm tired of these journalist interviewing Mauricio Sulaiman and never asking the important questions! for example : who is now your new mandatory for the WBC title? are you going to have eliminators? is Mikey going to be allowed a voluntary vs. a bum? cause you know there is no rule stating he has to unify with Robert Easter jr ; people assume thats the likely fight that the networks will pay for but apparently thats up to the IBF and even if Robert did not have a mando in Richard Commey do I think Mikey will fight Easter? probably not, considering hes a b*tch.

Mexican hypejob is afraid to be exposed by much smaller Loma & that's why he ran to 140 division & will run to 147 soon too.

Plan A: Danny Garcia @ 147, Plan B: Baranchyk @ 140, Plan C: Easter Jr. @ 135. Plan A: If he's serious about WW, DSG is the best fighter ($$$) to test! Plan B: Keeping the IBF 140 title, and staying close to weight for the winner of Linares (who said he would fight Mikey @ 140) vs. Lomachenko. Plab C: Had Easter looked good vs. Fortuna, then he'd be Plan A, but he looked like azz!
