Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua Won't Discuss What He'll Weigh for Parker Fight

Anthony Joshua won't discuss his weight target for his upcoming fight against Joseph Parker. Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter, has indicated that the undefeated knockout artist will come in lighter than the career-high 254 pounds he weighed for his 10th-round stoppage of Carlos Takam on October 28 in Cardiff, Wales. The 28-year-old Joshua weighed in at 250 pounds, then the highest he had weighed, for his career-changing, 11th-round technical knockout of Wladimir Klitschko on April 29 in London.

Maybe not .. when your opponent is a flabby overweight 38 yo like Stiverne or Ortiz.

Parker is going to be much fitter, faster and tougher than those 2 dinosaurs!

Ortiz weighed what he’s pretty weighed his entire career. But those are mere trifling facts. Carry on.

I actually think it does matter for AJ. He seems to have stamina issues when he’s around or over the 250 mark. I think somewhere between 240-245 is ideal for him.

Stiverne was 39 and Ortiz just few weeks shy of 39 (officially). Still I can't see weight as a big issue for Joshua whatever he's gonna be, 25x or 24x.

You wanna drain him that much? Remember cutting muscles is not good for a fighter and Joshua have no fat to cut. Having said that I think 245 looks reasonable for him.

Never won anything or beat anybody his entire career either.

Luis Ortiz was a much tougher opponent than Joseph Parker will be.
