Comments Thread For: Ellerbe Concerned, Would Advise Mayweather To Avoid MMA

Leonard Ellerbe, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, would not be in favor of seeing his close friend, Floyd Mayweather Jr., make his debut in mixed martial arts. As BoxingScene.com reported late Sunday night, Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) told TMZ that he is going to apply for an MMA license. Mayweather, 41, retired from boxing last August, after snapping a two year layoff with a tenth round stoppage of UFC superstar Connor McGregor, who was making his debut in boxing.

It’ll happen and it’ll be fixed, he wants to be the first billionaire fighter and this would be the final pay check to get there, but he would never fight if he would get hurt, so it’ll be staged, I have no doubt about it.

I don't think the spotlight has anything to do with it. It is millions of haters like you, who click on anything with Mayweather's name, leave some derogatory comment, and then pay however much Floyd decides to charge for the pleasure of watching him fight.

Floyd is going to fight in MMA for one reason and one reason only. And that is because what sane person would turn down a 9 figure payday??? What's it matter if he gets KO'd or submitted in the first round?

Floyd will fight in MMA and will again make over $100 million for one fight. He will still be, at the very least, one of the very best boxers ever, he will still be 50-0 as a professional boxer.

And in five years, if haters like you are still enamored enough by Floyd, he will come back again for some other entertainment event to take another $100 million.

There are so many idiots it is amazing. Yea, Floyd don't care about making $100 or $200 million for one fight, he just wants the spotlight. lmao. You guys give Floyd the spotlight by immediately clicking and reading the latest gossip about him.

And yea, as soon as a reality show offers Floyd $100 million or more, then he will be on it in no time. And it would be like everything else Floyd does, it would break records. Records for views, ratings, and advertising dollars.

If this is not a pr stunt, Floyd will simply fight another celeb. No way does he fight mcG or anybody else...lol imagine if he gets to challenge Khabib right off the bat.. no way is Floyd that dumb, sportswise atleast

He's 41! Be afraid! Be very afraid! If I were Ellerbe, I would rather see Mayweather vs. Crawford, than Mayweather vs. McGregor in a MMA bout!

The difference would be that Mayweather would own the show!
