  • Comments Thread For: Felix Verdejo's Trainer Expects His Fighter To Return Stronger

Ricky Marquez, trainer and manager of Puerto Rican lightweight contender Felix "El Diamante" Verdejo, is confident that his boxer will return even stronger from last weekend's upset loss. Verdejo (23-1, 15 KO's) took a major hit last Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York, when he was stopped in the tenth and final round by hard-hitting Antonio Lozada Jr. of Mexico.

Hopefully he can get it together. He's 23-1 and just came back after a turbulent couple years. I think Verdejo can rebound it'll just take him some time and work to get back to the position he was in previously.

Lack of preparation, his head isn't there and time won't fix it. He's done.

                I hope you're right but I just don't think he's mentally there.

This all depends on Verdejo, hes young and athletic so he has that on his side.

Yes I agree with his trainer, he will come back and get knocked out even stronger.

His chin is too weak, stick a fork in him.
