Kovalev vs Browne is official. Bivol is the co-main. Who do u think Bivol will fight?

HBO seems to be building up to Kovalev-Bivol, so I doubt any unification happens before then at least not with Bivol. Hopefully Kovalev gets the Jack-Stevenson winner in the fall since Im guessing they would rather take the big money Kovalev fight than take a big risk against Gvozdyk for way less money.
See what happens when the WBC stops being bought off by Haymon for a minute and actually does their job? It doesn't just make mandatory fights happen, it pushes all the other good fights to happen too because suddenly guys cant sit on titles forever against cab drivers, they have to choose between a risk either way so may as well take the big fight.
Hopefully, that's what happens. But as for Bivol, he still only has 15 fights or so, so it makes sense for him to get a little more experience against top 10 guys before unifying.Comment

Smith Jr or Alvarez would be my guess. I'd hope its Alvarez of the two of them.
Beterbiev is either a TR guy so I'd suspect Bob would want him fighting on ESPN not HBO or he's in limbo & won't be fighting anyone so I highly doubt he's even on the shortlist here as much as I wish he was.Comment

Yea I would be fine with either Alvarez or Smith jr. Beterbiev fight seems like a stretch because him signing with top rank but that would be my favorite fight. And I hope Bob let's beterbiev fight kovalev if he beats browne, he can't afford to be inactive only has a dozen fights and in his 30sSmith Jr or Alvarez would be my guess. I'd hope its Alvarez of the two of them.

I was big on Beterbiev at one time, but I think he's more or less f#cked now. He's sitting too long. He's not fought anyone he should have by now. He's got lil leverage in the division now with his age + resume to make big fights. I think what Beterbiev might have been is out the window with all this side sh^t.Yea I would be fine with either Alvarez or Smith jr. The only opening I'd have seen for him is if there was a WBSS tournament at 175 this year (Kalle said they are only doing lil guy divisions this year so its not an option) that could have gotten him fighting the best, in theory anyway, one after another & potentially being the #1 guy in the division by May of 2019 or having a much improved resume + more of a proven rep even if he came up short.
F#cked up how boxing works sometimes that all this business sh^t can f#ck up a guys career progression.Comment

Yea completely agree, one of those situations when a guy gets ****ed around and his career suffers for it. I hope maybe because he hasnt been active it will prolong his career but that's no guarantee. Still have hope he'll have some big fights and prove his skill.I was big on Beterbiev at one time, but I think he's more or less f#cked now. He's sitting too long. He still has some time and and I'm sure Bob realizes it's not worth signing him to keep him inactive considering his age. I think the guy is ready for the best and they should be trying to get him in the big fightsComment
