Tx...been checking YouTube.. .will watch when I get the chance...yea ...he's done as a top prospect

Given the footage and the context... I could understand... He ate a hard right just before the stoppage...he was definitely hurt and likely to go down again.

But, I've never watched a full fight of his. Sure took a lot of left hooks before that cab driver he was fighting went down, though. Mikey or Prograis lands one single shot like that and the guy goes down, imo. Big difference.
Youre talking about 2 guys. Josh Taylor is the 140 guy. Josh Kellythe one with the hooks

A lot of wasted movement by Verdejo.
Verdejo has never improved as a fighter and that was one of his biggest problems.

Verdejo should have tried a different trainer. He should have left PR, based on the lack of focus I heard he had in PR.
Would it have helped him? Who knows but should have at least tried. He wasn't learning anything from his trainer. I could tell that from early on. Even when he was looking impressive knocking out fighters.

I don't think that gets stopped in most places, but there is such a thing as a NY stoppage now, kinda like a UK stoppage, due to the Magomed situation.

If Verdejo was a bit of a bigger name maybe he gets slightly more leeway here idk, but then again with a KD + losing the rd big + still getting hit flush = not surprised if I'm being honest.

He should get a rematch in a less quick to stop a fight state/country next fight.

Yea...i agree. It's the New York stoppage. They are really cautious now... it's 1 punch maybe too early... He was ducking punches...but it is what it is. He was in a bad spot and hurt.

Did Verdejo train with Abel Sanchez for this fight? Or whatever happened to him going up to Big Bear?

I would love a drug test on this Mexican fighter right now!

I like his talent and potential but he is probably another year or 2 Away but yeah I think he can be a good fighter. Has a good test early in his career coming up vs a tough veteran like Carlos Molina
