Former 3-time EBU welterweight champion Jorgen "Gamle" Hansen has passed away at the age of 74. Hansen had been suffering from dementia the last few years. "Gamle" (the Old Man") Hansen became a legend in his own time not just in Danish and European boxing but also in Danish sport.

One of Demark’s greatest fighters, good Euro level boxer and late bloomer who was never good enough to beat the top guys. Saw him get blown out by a comebacking Pipino Cuevas in 1981 when he was still good enough at 38 to hold the Euro welterweight belt
