  • This situation makes Joshua look soft, if there was any doubt that he fears Deontay Wilder, now you have it, and remember, after he knocked out Wlad, Wilder was ringside calling the fight, Instead of calling out an active heavyweight champion(that flew across the atlantic for the fight)he calls out a retired Tyson Fury.

AJ is wants to duck this fight, and he is running from the pressure that will be upon him should he defeat Parker.

    • Well, I suppose that if Joshua wins, it's his night and he should have it his way.

I'm just wondering why he wouldn't consider that it would be promotion for their future fight. But hey, to each their own I guess.

They both seem like sensible guys, even with Wilder's public persona being that of a loudmouth braggart. I wonder if Wilder now abides by Joshua's wishes, or takes the opportunity anyway for the sake of promoting the fight.

      • I don’t blame him. If Wilder gets in the ring Joshua wouldn’t be able to speak. He would have to be political correct in accordance with his PR BS. This is why it doesn’t pay to be fake. If this was Fury then he would say whatever he wants if Wilder comes into that ring but with Joshua he wouldn’t be able to.

        • Wouldn't be surprised Wilder gets in the ring and confronts AJ anyways!

Would love to see the look on Edward Hearns face when AJ told him, "whatever you do Eddie, don't let Wilder into the ring! Got that? I'm not into all that hyping fights. Just don't let him in the ring with me Eddie!"

          LMAO

          • Does he need permission to get in a british ring? If he has the balls he will just jump right in there anyway right? If he doesn't he is just a pussay.

            • If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen~

Even if the fight is not next it makes no sense because it still builds the fight that will happen within a couple fights as it just adds more to the story. The only reason not to is not to bring on more public attention to the fight which is not a good look for a high profile fighter that wants high profile fights or supposed to anyway.

Plus Wilder is supposed to be easy work right, that is not exactly how you treat easy work.

              • God you guys are dumb. AJ sells out arenas for his fights within minutes. Can any of you idiots tell me why he needs to "build" or "hype" a fight with Wilder? If Wilder jumps into the ring, it'll just be chaos, yelling and an attempt for Wilder to try and steal AJ's night. The Klitschko fight was signed by sitting down, negotiating like grown men and then announcing the fight right after the Molina fight. There was no need for yelling bombsquad or any of Wilder's WWE tactics. And that fight went to Wembley, broke records and made both camps very rich. Wilder should take a lesson and then maybe the fight can be next. Stop running his mouth like an angry ex wife, and start acting like a grown man and sit down to negotiate.

Except Hearn himself has said that he isn't dealing with 'Shelly Winkel' and has been in contact with DiBella instead to make the fight, which makes sense considering DiBella is top dog. Whether that is true or not I do not know... just as much as you don't have the foggiest clue what's going on with making that fight either.

Great idea. let's build a fight even more that hasn't been agreed yet and make the public crave the fight to the extent that it is the only fight they will accept, thus weakening their negotiating position in actually making the fight and giving Wilder more leverage to demand more cash. That definitely makes total sense.

                    • Team AJ doesn't want to be called out in front of his 80k live sheeps. If that happens Team AJ will have more pressure on them why they aren't making the AJ vs Wilder fight and Hearn doesn't want to deal with it. Plain and simple AJ and Hearn doesn't want the UK public to lose faith in their cash cow.
