Imam looked real sharp that first round, Ramirez needs to beat the drums of that rib cage, and push him to the ropes. When he's standing there looking at Imam he's fucking up.

Great fight so far, both guys are doing what they have to do.

        1-1

They were standing in the pocket at the end of the round and trading, someone is going to get buzzed.

Nice fight, went roughly as anticipated with Ramirez' pace and volume gradually overwhelming Imam's sharpshooting. Imam hopefully gaining back some of his lost prestige and Ramirez gaining some new fans.

But dammit, Jose, cog**** but if you'd kept up the pace in the final round you coulda earned me 30pts, man.

Jose gave the 30 pts to me instead.

              Ramirez for Senator!

Yea in 11th I thought I might get the 30 but he was too gassed. But if Imam had any pit bull in him I would have got 0 so guess I should be happy. He was too afraid of getting to place he was in Gran fight to let hands go because Ramirez was gassed by 6th or so and never really got a second wind.I think Ramirez is the weak link at 40 for a title.Dont see him beating Progres.

Yeah, ultimately while it was a good performance Ramirez didn't really show me anything to think he's some kind of standout. Dude's tough, relentless and fights at a good pace, but that will only carry you so far. The main point in his favour is that he's still young, and while his skills ain't elite they ain't too shabby either and I think he has the capacity to improve.

Right now Prograis stops him - kid just gets hit way too much - in fact we might have seen a different fight if Imam carried a bit more power.

Don't think power was prob it was keeping hands in pocket all night.I think his power is real and if he had some dog in him he would have beat Ramirez. He did not want to see that place that Gran brought him to so he made sure he did not gass.Paulie Malignaggi I remember when he was STILL with McG the press was trying to get him to say CM had "O MY GOD POWER"and he said NO and talked about people who did.He said Cotto for a guy he fought but with big sparring gloves/headgear he named Imam twice. And he just used last name and nothing else about him so I don't think he was tying to give kid press because I don't think ANYONE knew who he was talking about. Its on youtube

Well Imam certainly had the power to jar Ramirez, but you reckon he was afraid of really committing? Could be... certainly I'm inclined to respect Paulie's opinion on the matter, and I can see how he would be wary... lotta big punchers become unwilling to pull the trigger after being on the receiving end.
