They can launch all they want, but Joshua holds the cards. He’s not obligated to sign anything long-term and probably won’t until the Wilder fight is out of the way.
Why wouldn't Showtime or HBO offer long terms deals though.Something like a 3-5 fight deal.

They could, but why does he have to say yes? He holds all the cards. I suspect after the Wilder fight (likely next year), he’ll go to the highest bidder. He’ll go to HBO before that, entice them and drive his price up.

Yes. HBO definitely passed on Andrade-Derevyanchenko. Not reported yet, but I heard it from one of the promoters.

On the flip side, I guess you can’t win if you don’t play....
I think it's a case of two different strategies:

HBO is doing favors first and then hoping Hearn brings them Joshua....buying B- and C-level Matchroom fights to entice Hearn to move Joshua.

Showtime is waiting to do favors until they see if Hearn keeps Joshua with them. When Joshua's deal was in effect, Showtime did buy some of Hearn's smaller shows, but it seems like Showtime is holding off on any more favors for Hearn until they find out if Hearn is going to do them a solid.

I hope the Aussie stomps Whyte so we don't have to hear about him anymore.

But to do that HBO will have to fend off Showtime, who will surely bid big bucks for it.HBO would want to tie him down rather than play fire with every fight.

Agree with that,100%.HBO has the Trump Card though, offering dates to Matchroom USA.

Everyone wants to tie him down. But it's Joshua's call.
