Comments Thread For: Parker: Wilder Showed The Heart of a Champion Against Ortiz

BoxingScene.com was on hand at one of WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker's (24-0) recent training sessions in Las Vegas. Parker is putting the final touches on his training camp for his March 31st showdown against WBA/IBF/IBO champion Anthony Joshua (20-0).

The video of his team watching the fight was great stuff. While his camp was hype watching knockout, he was just sitting there focused, trying to process what just happened.

He seemed to be cheering Ortiz on in the 7th. Not so much when Wilder was closing out the fight in the 10th though.

Actions speak louder than words. I'm sure Parker would rather face Ortiz over Wilder. As flawed as Wilder's "technique" is it seems to be quite a puzzle to solve over your traditional style of boxing technique. A few fighters that come to mind are Miadiana, Pac man, Mayorga, Porter, Hamed, Augustus, Sergio Martinez. Their styles are/were so different from the norm that I can see why some were avoided and never easy to deal with.

How interesting would it be if Parker spoiled the would be dance of Joshua/Wilder?!

              I'm sure he wouldn't.

Oilskin Parker wants to unify and become undisputed champion.

Fighting Ortiz wouldn't do that and given windmills flaws and Ortiz savvy south paw skills, windmill would be the easier fight with the most to gain from.

There's nothing to be gained from beating up on an old man like windmill did....

Damn my dude. Sounds like Wilder took your lunch money back in the day or something :/ And if Ortiz was so savvy then why couldn't he dispose of a windmill with no skills? If you would have read and posted my whole comment then I explained my reasoning on the clash of styles.
