While it might not be the center of the boxing universe it used to be, it remains one of the world’s great media hubs. A New York fistic debut matters. A New York debut at the Garden matters e...

According to an article on here before the Prograis fight, it said Prograis is the second place champ, and sometimes they make second place a mandatory and sometimes they don't.

Basically, it is the WBC and they do whatever they want. The WBC rules depend on how much Suliaman, the head of the WBC, likes you. While he may not take bribes, it is more like he is the briber. He doesn't make different rules for different fighters because someone pays him too, he just does it because he likes some fighters more than others. This is what that WBC, WBA, IBF guy on here told me anyway. It does make sense for all the questionable decisions the WBC has made over the years.

If Ramirez wins, the only way he fights Prograis is if the WBC makes him. That's because Ramirez is with TR and Prograis is with Haymon. While occasionally Bob and Al do work together, neither one will want to put their budding superstar in a fight he might very well lose to someone "out house".

Yes, Prograis beat Indongo to become the immediate mandatory challenger to the Imam-Ramirez winner, and I don't see either guy being good enough to beat Prograis anyway.

I don't think Prograis is with Haymon, though; he's come up "the old way", being built up on ShoBox to now being on the cusp of headlining Showtime Championship Boxing telecasts.

He's signed to Lou DiBella, and DiBella and Haymon have a great working relationship, but that's about as far as things seem to go.
