Comments Thread For: Liam Smith Agrees Terms To Travel For Sadam Ali Title Challenge

Liam Smith looks set to travel for his next fight after his promoter revealed that terms have been agreed. The former WBO super-welterweight world champion will challenge for his former title against current champion Sadam Ali. Smith, 29, became the mandatory challenger to the Miguel Cotto conqueror back in November when he won an eliminator against Liam Williams in a rematch at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle.

Good 50/50 fight. Ali is a better and more skilled. Ali was a top amateur, Olympian, and just flat out a better fighter at every stage then Smith. The only reason this fight is close is because Ali is NOT a real Jr Middleweight. Hell he's not even a big welterweight. Liam is the much bigger man. I see Ali either being too fast and outboxes him. Or Liam being much bigger stronger man wears the smaller Ali down and knocks him out.

Ali outboxes him and wins the early rounds, but Smith keeps walking him down and eventually stops him in the mid to late rounds

part of the ESPN agreement to get the Linares/Loma fight signed off was that ESPN would air their fight earlier in the night to not overlap with the HBO broadcast. So now fans can watch both broadcasts in full. The ESPN one will be over before the HBO begins.

                    Cool 2 fights on May 12th, Loma-Linares and Ali-Smith.

                    Good weekend of boxing.

I got Ali and Loma winning their fights.
