ESPN - The Briton seemed fortunate to earn a unanimous points decision -- 116-113, 116-112 and 115-113 -- over Russian Artur Akavov at the Lagoon Leisure Centre in Paisley, Scotland.

Akavov was certainly busier and seemed to be ahead at the halfway point.

Saunders was in FIGHT of his LIFE against Andy Lee!!! If you have to be in a "CLASSIC" fight with Andy Lee SMH???

In the fifth round, Chavez openly taunted Lee's punching power, dropping his gloves, grinning wildly and pretending to have wobbly knees. From there, Chavez's strength put Lee in retreat, and Chavez punished him with left hooks to the body and right uppercuts to his head.

"I couldn't hold him off," Andy Lee said. "He was too big and too strong."

"A right uppercut by Chavez snapped Lee's head upwards and sideways, and Chavez connected on a barrage of punches before referee Laurence Cole intervened and waved an end to the fight".

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. knocks out Andy Lee in seventh round

He's correct, Canelo won't fight him. The back-peddling style is all wrong for Canelo and too high a chance it would end up looking like Hughie Fury vs Parker, not a fight Golden Boy would want. Canelo would likely be given the points win, but again, another controversy over scoring is the last thing Golden Boy would want. Not going to happen.

Saunders presents problems for GGG,Canelo, and Jacobs in my book. 160 needs to quit waiting for GGG & Ginger.

Saunders,Charlo,Andrade,Derevyanchenko,Murata etc, should be fighting each other NOW!
BJS wants his paycheck before his time runs out & the biggest checks he can get is with Nelo followed by golovkin. So he will NOT fight any other stiff competition. Jermall is the mandatory to golovkin as of right now cuz I have Nelo beating golovkin again, with or without PEDS....lol....BJS even said he would only fight Jacobs for no less than 5mil.

Correct me if I am wrong but stubhub is a ticket reseller i.e You can only sell tickets that were already sold. So this statement would make more sense if you put ticketmaster in place of stubhub.

Well if Canelo should win, and that's a big IF, he's going to have to fight someone and that aren't too many acceptable opponents that would he considered easy. Saunders is likely the easier selection over jacobs and charlo. Unless golden boy somehow manages to recycle lemieux again.

Mexican is written with a capital M you disrespectful ignorant.

And, obviously, I'd bet my life that the one backpedaling and doing cheating and tricks all fight vs. Canelo would be Saunders, not Canelo. And as much as it will hurt you to see it, Canelo would land not one, but several meaningful punches on your runner idol. He is not that "slick" at all. He just outboxed a damaged-goods Lemieux who had been KO'd by GGG. GGG defeated Lemieux way more convincingly than Saunders, who just took some GGG leftovers. Why didn't he fight Lemieux BEFORE he fought GGG? Same exact case as Canelo, waiting for Jacobs to show GGG was human and in decline, before facing him.
