Why did Spence wait so long to turn pro?

      I don't know. Too many good fighters turn pro too late for the best results in my opinion. By the time they are world champions they are almost past prime. Boxers like Mayweather, Trinidad, Vargas and Oscar were champions at 20 or 21 years old and fought as champions for almost 10 years while still in their 20s.

            I believe that loss was to Omar Figueroa if I remember the interview correctly. Spence had only been boxing for a year or two by then. He started at 15 and I guess waited for the 2012 Olympics before he turned pro.
